How Formatting Works

Automatic Element Formatting

Every element is automatically formatted with the correct:

  • Margins and spacing
  • Font and text formatting
  • Page layout and structure
  • Industry-standard appearance

Element Formatting

Scene Headings

Scene headings are automatically formatted as:

  • ALL CAPS text
  • Centered on the page
  • Proper spacing above and below

Character Names

Character names are automatically formatted as:

  • ALL CAPS text
  • Centered on the page
  • Proper indentation from margins

Dialogue

Dialogue is automatically formatted as:

  • Indented 3.5” from left margin
  • Single-spaced with proper line breaks
  • Maximum 35 characters per line

Action Blocks

Action blocks are automatically formatted as:

  • Left-aligned with 1” margins
  • Single-spaced with proper line breaks
  • Present tense formatting

Parentheticals

Parentheticals are automatically formatted as:

  • Indented under character name
  • Parentheses formatting
  • Proper spacing with dialogue
